Alpha Wave FAQ and SpecsUpdated an hour ago
What is Alpha Wave?
Incorporating next generation technology at nearly every turn, Alpha Wave is tuning bike helmets to a new frequency.
It starts with fit. Featuring the HighBar® System, Alpha Wave does away with clumsy strap adjusters. Simply flip the arms down and tighten to twist, all with one hand.
Then, there’s integrated audio. Built into the panels above the ear, the speakers are designed to deliver the type of transparent sound that makes you feel like your life is being soundtracked: you can hear what’s going on around you, just as well as your media. And it’s integrated in more ways than one. Alpha Wave syncs with TM-B so that you can choose your media right from the Portal.
It also comes with the latest in cranial conservation: Release Layer System®, or RLS. Composed of four panels that are designed to release on impact, RLS is designed to dissipate the rotational impact that causes concussions.
Rounding out the feature set are two front-facing LEDs (a 200 lumen headlight and a 75 lumen task light), two rear-facing LEDs, and noise-canceling microphones to make those wheeling-and–dealing phone calls literal.
What features make Alpha Wave special?
Safety and Fit:
Release Layer System®, or RLS is a new safety standard in helmet tech that’s designed to reduce concussion risk and rotational forces upon impact. RLS redirects dangerous reciprocal force using ball bearings underneath polymer panels that release upon impact, significantly reducing concussion and whiplash risk.
HighBar® System Chin Strap: Fit is important when it comes to helmet safety. And most helmets still use fabric straps. HighBar® swings down under your chin, then you simply twist the dial clockwise to tighten, and counterclockwise to loosen. It includes a comfortable chin pad, and reduces temperature when compared to fabric straps.
Built-in Technology:
Integrated audio: 4 speakers placed above the ears deliver crystal clear sound. Hear what’s going on around you, and still hear your music or your conversations.
Noise-canceling microphones: Reduces wind noise with on-board processing that isolates your voice for the recipient of your call.
Front LEDs: One for forward-facing road lamp, and one task light.
Bright rear light for rider visibility.

What colors does the Alpha Wave come in?
The helmet is currently available in two colorways: Seeing Stone, a medium-dark blue-grey, and Obsidian, a light grey shade.
Is it bike-specific?
No, is the short answer. All of Alpha Wave’s features are cross-compatible with any bike because the speakers and microphone ultimately pair with your phone via Bluetooth. However, it’s only on TM-B that you reach peak Transcendent Mobility, namely when it comes to media integration. Control your songs, podcasts, and phone calls all from the Portal’s silky smooth, silicon screen.
Is it compatible with third-party visors and accessories?
There is currently no planned compatibility with mounted third-party attachments, though you can expect that third-party sunglasses and eye protection will generally fit.
