Modularity is at the core of TM-B design. Each bike is as unique as you are, and we fully support you customizing your ride to your liking. Here are just some of the ways that you can trick out your TM-B just the way you like it.
Top Frames
The number one way to quickly adapt your TM-B to your mission is to swap out the Top Frame, and it takes less than 3 seconds.
They come in three varieties: Solo, for daily use, Utility, for carrying cargo, and Bench, for comfortable cruising. They also come in 5 tangy flavors: Grey Matter, Phoenix, Ozone, Amethyst, and Aurora.
You can read all about Top Frames and which one is right for you here.
Cockpit
What's the difference between the Standard and Sport cockpit?
Standard has 120mm of handlebar rise for an upright ride. Sport has 80mm of rise for a more aggressive, leaned-forward position.
Can I change the Cockpit later on?
Yes. It’s a bit more involved and involves a few screws and minor adjustments, but it’s not hard either. We don’t have individual Cockpit sets available for purchase quite yet, but when we do, you’ll be able to switch handlebars in about 10 minutes.
Are the grips on the handlebars interchangeable?
Yes, the bars are standard size (22.2 mm) and you can use any grips you like.
Can I use my own handlebars instead of the ones that come with the bike?
No, the handlebars have some pretty cool integrated tech in them, so Sport and Standard Cockpits are the two options available currently.
Saddle
Do the Small and Large Top Frames come with different sized saddles?
Yes, the Small saddle is about 6 in long at its widest, and the Large is about 7.5”.
Can I swap out the saddle or seat post for my own?
Yes, the seat post is standard size (34.9) and the saddle is a standard style as well. You can use any saddle that feels comfortable to you on both the Solo and Utility Top Frames. The Bench Top Frame is, of course, not adjustable at all.
Wheels
What kind of tires come with TM-B?
There are two different kinds of Ride Packages:
Road includes 24” x 2.6” ALSO On-Road tires with light treads - perfect for quiet, smooth riding with just the right amount of grip, rain or shine.
All-Terrain includes ALSO x Kenda off-road 24 x 2.6 tires. Knobby and built to stick the line.
Can I change the tires?
Yes, you can use any 24” tire with a 30mm inner diameter. However, anything larger than 3” wide won’t fit in the front or rear.
Can I change the wheels?
Yes, the wheelset is mounted with Boost thu-axles in the front, and M12 x 1.75 x 202mm in the rear.
However, the new wheelset needs to be exactly the same size and spec as our stock wheels, because the transmission uses some advanced math to calculate propulsion and braking, so we can’t think of a reason why you would.
Components and Accessories
Can I clamp accessories to the handlebars?
There’s a little room for a clamp somewhere between the stem, throttle, brakes and controls. The width at this point is about 32mm.
Can I change the pedals?
Yes, the pedals are the standard 9/16-inch x 20 TPI thread size.
Would 3rd party racks or fenders work?
No, the ALSO Front Rack and Utility Top Frame provide all the storage you’ll need and have mounting points that work perfectly with TM-B.
Fenders are the same way: since the bike has a unique build, the fenders mount differently than on a standard bike, making them easy to install and remove.
There is a list of recommended 3rd party accessories here.
Batteries
Can I bring multiple batteries?
Yes, you’ll be able to swap batteries out to extend your ride. Additional batteries aren’t available right now, but they will be.
Are Standard and Performance batteries interchangeable?
Yes. If you have a TM-B Performance and a TM-B Standard, you can use either battery to go for a ride. The range may not be the same, because the TM-B Performance offers a bit more torque so it uses a bit more juice.
