How far can I ride on a full charge?
Up to 100 miles on TM-B Performance's 808Wh battery, up to 60 miles on Standard's 538Wh battery. Real-world range varies depending on assist level, terrain, rider weight, and temperature.
How long does TM-B take to charge?
Base Battery (538 Wh): 0–80% in about 1.8 hours
Full charge in about 2.3 hours
Performance Battery (808 Wh): 0–80% in about 2.7 hours
Full charge in about 3.75 hours
The TM-B includes a 240W USB-C adapter, which is required for the fastest charge speeds.
Can I use a different USB-C charger with TM-B?
Any USB-C charger will work in a pinch, but lower wattage will result in longer charge times. There is a USB-C port located on the down tube, and the battery can also be charged off the bike.
What happens when the battery gets low or dies mid-ride?
At roughly 10% charge, the bike enters "Conserve Mode". Pedal assist and throttle both still work, but max power and top speed are electronically capped to stretch remaining range. At roughly 3%, it enters "Infinite Turtle Mode"; all motor assist and throttle shut off, the bike rides like a normal bicycle, and the last bit of battery is reserved purely for the display and safety lights.
Can I charge my phone using my bike's battery?
Yes, the battery includes a USB-C port to output up to 240W so you can charge your devices on the go.
What affects TM-B's range?
Assist level: More power, less range. Gentler acceleration allows for more regenerative pedaling and less battery drain.
Cold weather: Lithium batteries generally lose usable range in cold temperatures. You may notice a loss of range when the weather gets below 40 degrees F.
Terrain: Steep hills, loss of traction, bumps and rough surfaces all affect efficiency.
Can I ride my TM-B in the rain?
Yes, the battery is water-resistant. It’s IP65 rated, meaning it handles heavy rain, splashing, and puddles.
How many charge cycles does the battery last before it degrades?
The battery carries a 2-year limited warranty or up to 300 recharge cycles, whichever comes first. The durability and longevity is roughly what you'd expect from automotive-grade cells. Over time and hundreds of charge cycles, you may notice a loss of battery capacity.

Does the battery have UL certification?
The TM-B is tested and rated to the highest safety certification available: UL 2849
That standard means an accredited laboratory has verified that the entire electrical system, from the cells, power management, motors and controllers, are protected against thermal events, overcharging, and physical impact.
The battery uses the same Samsung cells that a Rivian does, meaning that they are as reliable, durable, and powerful as a top-end electric vehicle.
